Atlantis Resort Bahamas Sun Set on the Beach

Atlantis The Legend

Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas

As the Legend goes – The city of Atlantis was protected by Large stonewalls and in its center there were channels of water dividing the different land areas. Outwards at the open places the Atlanteans positioned great towers and gates that had an enchanting function. For building materials only magnificent natural stones, brass, copper and tin were used, for the first two city walls. Orichalcum, a reddish metal, mined only in Atlantis was used for the walls surrounding the center of Atlantis. Orichalcum was used only for special buildings in Atlantis. In the canter there was a magnificent temple consecrated to Cleito and Poseidon. It was decorated with many gold statues and only the noblest metals were used to build it.

Atlantis is no other than the Primordial Paradise, which was the source from where the gods and angels brought the Gospels and the seeds of knowledge in the dawn of times.

Which Tower Should You Choose to Shop?

  • The Coral: This is the most economical way to access the full Atlantis resort. It features a relaxed, beach-inspired ambiance and is just steps away from the local shops and affordable dining at Marina Village.
  • The Royal: If you want the classic “Atlantis” experience you see in photos, stay here. You are in the middle of everything—from the high-energy casino to the marine exhibits. This tower recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation of all guest rooms (2024/2025).
  • The Reef: For families who want to save on meal plans, The Reef is the smart choice. Having a kitchen allows you to prepare breakfast or snacks in your room, which can significantly lower your daily food costs.
  • The Cove: This is the resort’s “sanctuary.” It is tucked away between two private beaches and offers a much quieter, more exclusive experience. It is the only tower that provides access to the adults-only ultra-pool and high-end gaming.

Budgeting Tip for WordPress Readers:

When comparing these rates, remember to factor in the Daily Resort Fee and VAT (Value Added Tax):

  • Resort Fees: Currently range from $64.90 to $77.00 per night depending on the tower.
  • Taxes: Expect a 21% combined charge for VAT and other local tourism taxes on top of the base room rate.

How to Save Money at Atlantis: Insider Tips for 2025/2026

A vacation to Paradise Island doesn’t have to break the bank. If you plan strategically, you can enjoy all the activities and the Spa while keeping your budget in check.

1. Master the Timing

The most effective way to save is by booking during the low season, which typically runs from late August through early November.

  • Cheapest Month: September usually offers the lowest room rates of the year.
  • Mid-Week Savings: Booking your stay from Monday through Thursday is often 20-30% cheaper than weekend rates.
  • Shoulder Season: April to June is the “sweet spot”—offering a great balance of beautiful weather and lower prices before the summer rush.

2. Hack the Meal Plans

Food is often the largest expense at Atlantis. To save:

  • Grocery Delivery: Use a service like InstaGopher or FoodStore2Go to have snacks, cases of water, and breakfast items delivered directly to your tower.
  • The “Six and Under” Rule: If you have young children, the meal plans are a massive win because kids 6 and under eat for free with a paying adult.
  • Family-Style Dining: Restaurants like Carmine’s in Marina Village serve massive portions designed to be shared, which often works out cheaper than individual entrées.

3. Smart Activity Planning

While many activities are included in your stay (like the Aquaventure water park and The Dig), others carry extra fees.

  • Free Entertainment: Check the daily Atlantis Times for free events, such as movie nights at the Atlantis Theatre or poolside trivia.
  • Bring Your Own Gear: Pack your own snorkeling masks and inflatable tubes. Renting these daily at the “Liquid Adventures” centers can add up to $50+ per person over a week.
  • Refillable Water Bottles: Atlantis provides water filtration stations throughout the resort. Bringing a reusable bottle can save a family of four over $100 in bottled water costs during their stay.

4. Look for “Resort Credits”

When booking, look for “Bundle & Save” packages. Atlantis frequently offers deals that include a $200–$400 Resort Credit. This credit can be applied toward your bill at the Spa, specialty restaurants, or even dolphin interactions, effectively erasing those costs from your final bill.

A Fun Look at the past. Here is a page from 2005

Compare the meal plan prices

Paradise Island, located on the northern edge of Nassau (New Providence) the capital of the Bahamas, is 826 acres, 4 -1/2 miles long and ¾ of a mile wide. Formerly known as Hog Island, Paradise Island first became a tourist destination in 1921. In 1962, the Bahamian Parliament and commercial developers were in agreement that the name Hog Island did not reflect the natural beauty and tourist appeal of the island, and therefore deemed “Paradise” a more appropriate name for this oasis.

The Myth of Atlantis:

As recounted by Plato, Atlantis was an island, a fortress where Poseidon’s five sets of twins ruled. There, within concentric rings of water and land, Atlanteans, lived a life of harmony and abundance. This evolved civilization flourished for years, until it was suddenly lost to the sea, submerged by an unforeseen volcanic eruption. Thought to be gone forever, Atlantis became an unattainable truth, as well as an inaccessible Eden. Until now….
