Atlantis The Legend

Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas

As the Legend goes – The city of Atlantis was protected by Large stonewalls and in its center there were channels of water dividing the different land areas. Outwards at the open places the Atlanteans positioned great towers and gates that had an enchanting function. For building materials only magnificent natural stones, brass, copper and tin were used, for the first two city walls. Orichalcum, a reddish metal, mined only in Atlantis was used for the walls surrounding the center of Atlantis. Orichalcum was used only for special buildings in Atlantis. In the canter there was a magnificent temple consecrated to Cleito and Poseidon. It was decorated with many gold statues and only the noblest metals were used to build it.

Atlantis is no other than the Primordial Paradise, which was the source from where the gods and angels brought the Gospels and the seeds of knowledge in the dawn of times.

What is ‘Atlantis Bahamas The Dig’?

Located in the heart of the resort, The Dig at Atlantis is an elaborate recreation of the mythical lost city. The experience is based on the legend of Atlantis, which, according to the myth, was submerged by a catastrophic volcanic eruption, earthquake, and flood.

    • Design: Built by Olio from Venice, California, The Dig is regarded as one of the world’s largest recreations of the mythical Atlantis.
    • Concept: Based on Plato’s writings, the exhibit is designed to imitate a 600-foot-long archaeological dig in search of signs of the lost city.

The temple hosts four distinct water slides, ranging from high-thrills to family-friendly.

    • Leap of Faith: This is the temple’s signature slide. It features a 60-foot, near-vertical drop from the top of the temple. Riders are propelled at high speed through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a lagoon filled with marine life, including sharks.
    • Serpent Slide: This is a five-story corkscrew tube slide that sends riders twisting and turning through the temple’s dark core. It culminates in a leisurely pass through a clear underwater tunnel, offering views of the surrounding marine lagoon.
    • Challenger Slides: These are twin high-speed racing slides. Guests can challenge a friend, sliding down parallel tracks. A digital clock at the bottom posts a rider’s speed to determine the winner.
    • Jungle Slide: An open-air body slide that winds its way through the landscaping and caves built into the temple’s exterior. It does not have any sudden drops, making it an ideal choice for younger riders or those seeking a milder thrill.
